Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Elevated tee, what a view. If you turn around and use a spotting scope, you can see the top of one tower of the Golden Gate bridge Photo submitted by Titaniumhen on 12/21/2020

It held together pretty well given all the water over the past month
No surprise that Chardonnay (or any other course in the Bay Area right now) was a wet and sloppy mess. That said, the tea boxes and greens were in terrific condition, as were most of the fairways.. once you got into the rough all bets are off and we had to pick clean and place a number of times throughout the day. But there were no crowds to speak of, and was really glad that they were open despite the terrible conditions lately. I’ll be back!
Local public enjoys this course
Exciting to see new energy coming in to the course. Hard to understand trimming cart paths when the tee boxes need immediate attention! Greens are in terrific shape as is the entire course
Good course
Tee boxes were in bad shape and the bunkers need a lot of work and sand.
Super slow pace of play
We expected that we would be able to finish 18holes within 4-4.5hours. But the course seemed to be over booked or poorly paced, which caused the pace of play extremely slow. We had to wait at least 10 minutes at almost every tee box to tee up. We ended up finishing just 14 holes (which took us 5hours!!!), and had to skip the last 4 holes. It wasn’t a fun experience.
Great Challenge
I like Eagle Vines (Sister course) a touch better but still a fun challenging course with a lot of interesting holes!
Beautiful day for golf!
A bit windy at the start but turned out to be a nice day for golf! Tough course for me but managed to play well this time.
Excellent Course
Very challenging course but fair. Greens are a great shape and don't have crazy unrealistic slopes like some courses. Beautiful surroundings and well maintained. I highly recommend the course and will definitely play it again.
Can be windy
We happened to pick a very windy, cold day. It made a challenging course extra so. The course itself was in good condition with the exception of some bare fairway spots. The greens were very good but had some varying speeds depending on grass length. I've played here several times and the wind wasn't a problem, just a bad day. It's a good track.
Love Chardonnay Golf Club
I'm new to golf and Chardonnay is one of the better courses in Napa Valley. The staff is amazing and the course is both tough and clean. Highly recommend, Aaron Williams
Need some care.
The tee boxes were heavily sanded.
The bunkers needs more sand.
The fairways had bare spot (packed dirt no turf) in the fairways.
Greens were in good shape.
great course, excellent service
I really like playing Chardonnay golf course a lot it’s an excellent track in the service was great
On this particular Saturday I got a great $40 rate on Golfnow, but that rate was offered because I was behind a slow tournament in the greens and just been punched and we’re very Sandy in the round took 5 1/2 hours
Other than that I had a good time
