Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Course looks great!
The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The bunkers need more sand - that’s my only issue with the. entire course.
We had an early tee time and we got out 15 minutes earlier than the tee time. We had the course to ourselves (almost)!
Conditions OK
Bunkers are mostly hard pan and very bad shape. Fairways just ok for this time of year. Greens were great as always.
Delightful day...
Played many times - great layout, can be breezy - can also be slow - will always be challenging. Greens are undulating - to say the least.
Fun -
Pace not too bad this time
I swore I would never play here again after the glacial pace of play the last time but when a good deal showed up on TeeOff I signed up for another go because I like the course. So even being behind 3 walkers it wasn't bad at all. Enjoyed the course and had a different experience because for some reason they had us start on 10. This course is different because they have 3 Par 3's and 3 Par 5's on both 9s. I have only 1 complaint - a course at these prices (for most people) should have some SAND in the BUNKERS! Hitting off concrete like dirt on the 8th hole Killed my score for that hole. Even my local Muni has better bunker conditions then this place.
Wonderful Experience
I had the opportunity to play this course on July 4th. Teed off about 6:40am and was not rushed during my round. I’ve played Eagle Vines, which sits next door and this course was a little bit better as for a challenge. The greens and fairway were in very good shape. I’m looking to play my next round in the very near future. Great Experience
Great Sunday round
It was a nice day out, it would have been even better if
the pace of play was better, it was very slow for early morning tee time.
Also, the greens were slower than usual, with some unfair pin placements: Number 2, 6, 17, 18
Slow pace ruined the round
Pace was so slow that by the 2nd hole 3 flights sitting on the tee box. Called for a Marshal and they said they would send someone but didn't. Left after 9 holes.
Play this course.....it has everything you want....great layout, beautufull views...
A must play if you are in the Napa Valley...
It was fun
Loved the layout and the par 5s. Enjoyed the elevation changes. Greens were in good shape. Challenging but fun course. Played a bit slow but I was out on Father's Day, so it was amazing
Fairways and greens are in good condition. Bunkers need sand!
I was very disappointed with the condition of the bunkers. They have no loose sand in them - you’re hitting off of hard pan in every bunker!
With that one (major) exception specified, everything else about the course was great!
Good conditions except for bunkers?!?
Overall course in good shape. Not sure what is in the bunkers but I think it is dirt! I know that sand is very expensive for golf courses but this was a disappointment,.
Chardonnay
Nice course: fairly open and forgiving, but beautiful layout amongst the vines.
5 hours
Great course. Some tough holes. Love the layout
Need Starter and Marshall actually working in the afternoon. Waited on every shot. 5 hour round. Either tee times to close or there was a group a few holes ahead backing everyone up playing the US Open
Decent course - No Marshalls on Sundays
Our threesome got out just before a tournament. Had a twosome in front of us walking. They were painfully slow. By 14 it looked like they were laboring. We discovered that didn’t matter. As it turned out, we weren’t going anywhere even if they let us play through. The foursome of walkers in front of them were 3 holes behind! When we called the pro shop, we were told that no Marshalls were on the course Sundays. 5 1/2 hour round.
Chardonnay
I had a 2:24 tee time. I wish the cafe or restaurant or bar would stay open so afternoon tee time player could get a drink. I doesn’t make sense to book late tee times and close refreshments before rounds end.
