Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

First Time Playing
Very nice layout, beautiful surroundings. We hit it on a somewhat / cold day, so played more difficult than I think it would normally play. Good variety of shots required, and very fair.
Biggest complaints were the status of the bunkers (no sand, hard clay with pebbles in may spots) and the cart paths are in pretty poor shape.
Management is HORENDOUS!!!
Wife bought birthday Gift Certs for myself and a friend. Used part for green fee and was told we could use balance in pro shop. Was not told we could use for food in restaurant. Day started with a driving range that was hitting off of weeks. Worse than the cheapest pubic city course i have ever played in in my 50 years playing. Pace of play was just fair and there were some bad spots on the course as far as condition. However that is not the bad part. We made the turn and ordered lunch on the nineth tee. Picked up food and got back out on course. Opened food on the 11th tee to find not what i ordered. Called the restaurant and they said to come back but that made no sense at all so told them i would accept a refund when i was done and they agreed. when we returned, went to get refund and was given a hard time by what appeared to be the food manager . He finally asked the cook and confirmed i did not get what i ordered and gave me some money back.
Then my friend and I went to the pro shop to use our balances to find the pro shop that was supposed to be open till 5pm was locked up at 4 pm. We walked around to find no one at administration or the GM office at all. After about a half hour we finally got on the road and our 1 1/2 hour drive home. For a month i have been leaving messages with the head pro who sold my wife the certificates to get the balances refunded. Messages have been left at the GM office but have been told he had resigned before the date we played.. Talked to the pro shop and they did nothing. It has been over a month now and NO CALL FROM THEM AT ALL AND NO CREDIT FOR THE BALANCES!!!!!! This course could care less!!!

Almost all was good, except the sand needs raking.
Fine for the cost
Decent course. Reasonable rates. The bar/restaurant is terrible. Worse than most muni courses. Awesome playing among the vineyards, but that’s about it. Course is not properly cared for, wet and muddy in spots, choppy greens. Staff is extremely unhelpful and acted like they didn’t want to be there. I’d recommend based on the rate and scenery.
Such a fun course
I am a local and this is my favorite public course to play in the valley. Usually in great condition - wish it was a tiny bit cheaper but all in all, the layout is so fun and playable.
I won.t go back
Greens had been sanded so very tough putting.
the group in front was VERY slow. took us over 5 hours to play. When I said something to the marshalll he want me to play catch with his dog! " Throw the ball you will feel better!"
i don.t think so!!!
golf now did not indicate aeriated greens
Disappointed that Golf now website did not indicate that the greens were aeriated the day before my reservations. greens were plugged and heavily covered in sand (up to 1/8 - 1/4 inch deep in spots).
Course is starting to show some ware and tear over the years. Most bunkers are filled with very wet sand/mud and could use some TLC. Cart paths are rougher than driving on the course (cement buckling everywhere).
I've always enjoyed Chardonay's layout, and hope they can put some money in the course to repair these problems before it makes the course not enjoyable.
A great day with my friends
This course is somewhat challenging for average golfers. Most of the greens were guarded by sand bunkers. Love to play this course again.
Chardonn-Yeah
This course is in great shape right now. Fairway were a bit wet in some places but overall very nice. Greens held the ball and rolled true and fast. I would recommend playing this course ASAP
Great location in Napa
I love to play this course because it is pretty much challenging with various levels of difficulty. I would recommend this course to my friends.
Great course layout
The course has a great layout. Each hole was uniquely interesting. The fairways and greens are large, which made it fun to play. I played probably one (1) tee box too far back for my driver distance, which made the par 4’s hard to reach in two (2). The greens have lots of contours. Green speeds, I would guess 8-10, about right. Speed was fairly consistent green to green. The bunkers could use additional sand. They had shallow hard sand: good for fairway bunker, not so good for the green side bunkers. I look forward to the next round.
Excellent course
Awesome course! Very beautiful views and the challenging yet do-able courses were great and so much fun. BIG greens which was funny but it was nice!
Great course, slow play
Beautiful course in Napa with spectacular views. Good value for hot deal on a Saturday. It did come at a price with a 5 hour 15 min round of golf.
A very nice course
I like to play this course. Some holes need a perfect layups, accurate yardage is important.
Have so much fun with my friends.
Great layout
Had a great time playing this course. Layout was cool with lots of hazards to keep me thinking about the shot I was going to play. It may have been 95 degrees but the cart girl saved my bacon whenever she came along.
