Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Elevated tee, what a view. If you turn around and use a spotting scope, you can see the top of one tower of the Golden Gate bridge Photo submitted by Titaniumhen on 12/21/2020

New Years Eve 18
Paired up with a twosome that was playing in front of me to make play move quicker. Had a very fun round with Eric and Nir. Unfortunately, the course was still very wet from earlier rain, and it was cartpath only. I’m an old guy and trekking all the way across the fairway for most shots was a bit much. Wet conditions did make some shots a little difficult but all in all the course was in great shape. But as the clouds moved in, the temperature dropped! So for the last five or six holes it was extremely cold. We pushed through and even with slow play of the two groups in front of us, we did barely finish before it got dark. Have always enjoyed this course.
Awful pace of play
Actually this is a great golf course with a beautiful setting in the vineyards and a challenging course design.
The pace of play was awful. They put me as a single alone. Behind me a double and behind them another single. In front were several foursomes. So every flight have to wait at least 10 minutes at each hole.
After playing there was no chance to clean my dirty shoes or to clean of my clubs.
The guy at the registration was also not very attentive about the setting of the flight constellation.
After all I would recommend this course, when you have plenty of time and don’t play as a single.
Vrrrrr Noice👌🏽
Matt at the pro shop was super accommodating and helpful
The course was so much fun to play this time. Maybe because I can hit alit more shots than I did about 10 years ago or so when I first started.
Food and drinks were very good.
Bartender/ server was very friendly and efficient
I don’t care for margaritas but the one my nephew ordered me was vrrr noice👌🏽. Can’t wait to go back!! Thanks GN⛳️
Bunkers
Overall rating would have been 5 stars, but the bunkers were like concrete. Otherwise, a "Great" course.
Get A Marshal!
Course is fun and usually worth it but they are horrible with pace of play. Course does not have a marshal out helping keep up pace of play, two groups of 3 in front of us kept grouping up to make a 6 some… no one at the course cared or would say anything. Round took over 5.5hrs to complete, just ridiculous.
Driving Range closed on Tuesday's
It's a nice course in every respect. My only problem is the Driving being closed. In my opinion the range should be taken care of after 2p.m. when their is little activity on the first tee.
It seems to me it would speed up play on the first tee when your either way left or right. I know your thinking it wouldn't help the player who isn't sure if his or her ball is going to go left or right, but "Hey" it sure won't hurt.
Keeping the range open until two or later will also increase your bottom line.
A fun day in Chardonnay golf course
I love to play this course and want to play with my friends again. Some of the cart paths need to be fixed.
pace of play a joke
they clearly overbooked the course during a holiday week. we only got through 15 holes in 4.5 hours. No Marshall to move people along Sad when they have increased rates with more play with COVID boom.
Can be slow paced
I played on the 17th of November, this was the slowest pace of play ever. We encountered multiple 5 person groups which made the play really slow. Everyone behind us was frustrated. The big group actually told us they were playing with 5 people and to be patient. We quickly passed the next hole just to find another 5 person group and had to pass them up also. This happened 3 different times. Very poor management to let people like this slow down the groups behind them. Then to tell us to be patient with them. JUST LET US GO THROUGH IF THEY ARE THAT SLOW!! Common courtesy!
Fast putting green
This course is very nice and challenging. The greens are very fast. Putting is challenging. Anyway this is the course that I love.
Didn’t have enough time to finish round
Course should not give Teetimes behind Napa Valley College student practice. Made for us only getting 14 holes in and it was dark.
Bunkers are a wash.
Good course design with great views. Everything was good except for the bunkers which just need sand. Would definitely play here again.
