Seascape Golf Club
About
Originally Rio Del Mar Country Club, Seascape Golf Club is a classic 18-hole layout perched on the coast highlands of the Monterey Peninsula. Opened in 1926, the course was actually shut down during World War II when it served as a “victory garden” to help grow crops for the nation's war effort. After the war it came back with its new name, but old charm. The golf course is just a half mile from the Pacific Ocean, but it's largely protected by Monterey pines and eucalyptus trees that surround it. Seascape Golf Club features well maintained fairways, strategically placed bunkers and small, tricky greens.

Beautiful mature cypress and pine trees on this course
This old course always bring a smile to my face despite the frequent slow groups I often get behind on there are plenty of nice holes to enjoy your day at the course. Hilly and challenging this course has very little hidden holes. Avoiding the trees is half the battle. Keep your eye on your ball because the rough is cut just high enough to hide it and you loosing it. Hole# 8 is one I would like to have on my backyard but watch out for practice balls coming from the left side since it is next to a short practice range. Watch out for poison oak.
Lots of fun
I haven’t played course for several years, will be back real soon. Pace of play just over 3 hours.
Thanks
seascape
i have played here many times it is one of my favorite tracks each hole is fun and unique it requires some strategy and the use of all your clubs, not just a course where you go bang it.
greens are tricky and easy to three putt
fun course
greens
was not informed/aware of the greens were being aerated was a definite let down to an anticipated round of golf
Fun day!
We enjoyed our round inspite of playing just after the #1 - #9 greens were airated.
One of my favorites
The course is a local course that has good fairways and great greens. Watch out, they are fast. Much of it plays much longer than you might think. The price is really good for what you get. The ups and downs on the course make it even more challenging, especially when you add in the difficulty of the greens. I play it regularly. The food is very good and the bar is fantastic. You can sit outside on the deck and see the 9th and 18th green very close. The staff is super friendly. It's my favorite local course of Santa Cruz. I take all my friends here when they visit (I live here), but warn them of the greens being fast and tricky. The only thing I don't like is that it often runs slow and takes too long to finish in the afternoons.
Very slow play as usual for this course. Greens were in pretty rough shape for this time of year.
Greens are Nutz
Be prepare to 4 put regularly. I can usually sink 80% of my puts in 2 or less but not here. Felt like I was putting down a staircase on some of the holes. Other than that, beautiful layout, great food and very affordable. Can't wait to try this one again!
Quick play on a rainy day
I enjoyed playing a practice round by myself with no delays unlike the usual slow play on most afternoons. Finished in 3 hours with and 80 and a smile. Course is in great shape but they should consider leveling out some of these tilted greens.
Winter in Aptos
The course was in good shape for mid January. Greens were faster than average, a bit soft due to recent rain, but in good condition all things considered. Played in 4.5 hours. I fine afternoon. Club house afforded a personable and friendly brew after the 18th.
Near freeway
Been playing here many times. Tricky greens. Semi tough. Condition is ok when dry. Pretty muddy when wet.
Early is great
Playing early while cold is great since you can set your own pace. Course is in great shape. Friendly staff adds to the enjoyment.
Amazing green
I always enjoy the Greens of this course.
They area really fast and challenging. Thanks for green kepper for their great job!
Lush And Green
Everything was so lush and green. Greens were very fast but rolled true. I played here years ago but don't remember it being so well manicured.
Played 29 years ago
Very enjoyable round. Lots of hills valleys and beautiful manicured fairways. Staff very friendly. Greens two and three tiered and in good condition. Greens somewhat wet after a rain earlier in the week. Will play again in the future. Happy !
