Ridgemark Golf & Country Club
About
Tucked away between the mountains and foothills of the Gabilan and Diablo Ranges, Ridgemark Golf & Country Club enjoys a peaceful, secluded setting. San Benito County has been especially hard hit by drought and as a way to make the best of a tough situation, the decision was made to combine the club's two championship courses into one, more challenging layout. Golfers who loved the former courses need not worry. The best holes have been incorporated in the new layout along with the addition of some new and interesting holes, like the tough risk-reward seventh hole. The golf course has plenty of challenges in store including doglegs, strategically placed bunkers, tree-lined fairways, and water hazards. At just shy of 7,000 yards from the back tees, there are some long holes that are especially tough but you'll get some great mountain views from the elevated tees.

Best bang for ur buck
Absolutely great value. We play at whatever pace we want as there aren't many golfers out on Tuesday's.
Good course for the value
After storm/rain passed by there was hardly any golfers. We had beginner in our group that if there's any players, we let them pass by. Green was in excellent condition and fairway was good...better than I expected. Since I live 1hr away, it will be hard for me to play for often but if I were near by...I would play very often here. Don't know at normal weather condition how much of people will be here to play and pace of play will be effected.
So so in Hollister
Course is in so so shape. Largely taken over by crab grass. Practice facility was so so. Kitchen closed at 1:00 on Saturday.
Just So So!
Redesign Revisit
Hadn't played there in a while due to distance from San Jose and gas prices. Found a deal on Golfnow for the new course design. We were first out ... it was raining lightly. got briefing form marshal on new layout. Course conditions adequate given the drought condition that exist in northern California.... greens well maintained. The new routing is definitely a challenge ......could use some handouts with diagrams showing where the new tee boxes are and how to get to them.. In general the course design is tight with houses ... making the stray shot worrisome. Also large trees line many of the fairways and numerous gullies and wetland ponds when full make shot accuracy a must. We finished our practice round in under 4 hours.
A Dad and his Son
We decided to try the new layout at Ridgemark Golf & Country Club Resort and boy were we glad we did. The course is in great condition, challenging yet fair for us 12-15 handicappers and the weather way excellent. From our morning breakfast at the clubs restaurant, through the beautiful winding neighborhoods, this course is currently in tremendous shape, and a pleasure to spend a day golfing. Pace was great, we were never pushed or backed up, just a great time golfing...A dad and his son.
Course condition
Course in great shape despite the drought. Hreens in good condition. Pace of play was excellent.
rearranged course layout
Back 9 especially was rearranged, many times you had to drive through the residence area crossing many streets to get to next hole T. Time wasted in transit and course lost its view amidst the housing.
However, course still has it charm remains.and in good condition to play on.
Its been a long time
But each time I play here I am well satisfied. Greens and fairways are in great shape and the starter "Leo" made this Mrs feel comfortable as a new player.
Always a great challenge
We love this course and play at least 3-4 times per year just to stay humble. Much more challenging than the average muni courses. When you think you're playing well, come here to be sure! Challenging but fair; staff is always great!
Fun but easy course
I never played this course before they reduced it to just 18 holes so I can't compare to its past configuration. This is a pretty easy course with few hazards. It winds through a community of houses so most fairways have houses on either side. The greens were in nice shape and the fairways were okay. I played out of two sand traps and both had nice sand so you could use a proper sand shot. There are some decent length par-fives and the par-threes were as long as 190 yards. My typical score for 18 is 100 and I easily shot a 94 here with mostly bogeys, a few pars, and a few doubles.
Great deal
This was a great deal. Course was in great shape & the greens are well taken care of. It's in the middle of a neighborhood so if you can't hit straight you may break some windows. Overall great experience and will definitely play again.
Best course made combining two courses into one.
Great course for the money. Has several challenging holes. Could be in better shape but all courses suffering with the drought.
Nice Course, too many Houses
Very, very well kept course. My problem is that I'm not a very good golfer and when I shoot off a Tee with houses on both sides I freak out. Especially the back 9. You're basically playing golf in the neighborhood. We had a 2-some in front to start that we never caught and nobody else behind us the whole round and that was nice. I may play there again someday but the houses bug.
Nicer than expected
I didn't know what to expect, since the partial closure and merger of both existing courses, but was pleasantly surprised. No longer do you have to navigate your play around a water treatment/holding pond, (among other negatives) while instead the course seems to play longer overall. Players need to pay close attention to the signs directing to the next tees, as more than once you'll have to bypass what was previous existing fairways. All in all, a fairly nice experience on an older, established course. We'll play again.
Just Right
The staff was great and the course gives you enough mix of situations that makes it fun and fair to mid and advance players.
HIdden Gem
I got a group of 7 together, and we used Golf Now and Groupon,. The staff were very helpful making it work so we could tee off near each other's time.
The course was in great condition, and the tee's were well marked. It was cooler than we thought, since we know it can be hot in Hollister. We are looking forward to playing here again.
Definitely need a cart....Not a walkers course
Fun course
Fun course out in Hollister . Great for beginners and the old timers . Cart girls are a definite plus!!
Great Value and Fun
They took two side-by-side 18 hole courses and closed down 18 holes., leaving 18 holes. There are now some very large distances between some holes, so a cart is necessary. The 18 holes are fun and several have elevated tee boxes. The green were firm, yet slow as the grass was a little high. The greens were in very good condition and quite reasonable in design. A very good value. Most fairways were wide enough to feel confident in swinging without trying too hard to control the shot.
A bit drive from San Jose but worth
Not many golfers on the weekend....very relaxing to play here. Views are nice too. Fairways a bit more narrow, so sometimes balls went close to the homes. Course is not boring.....great.
Great value
This is the first time playing the reconfigured layout, and it was a bit confusing on where to go, but we figured it out. The greens are fantastic. We were the 2nd group off and the group in front of us let us play through as we were a threesome. Played in 3.5 hours. Weather was great, course was fun and the rate for a Saturday, $49.00 can't be beat.
