Putting on a beautiful green Photo submitted by gordyvon on 09/25/2012
Not as nice as it looks
It not as nearly as nice as it looks from the highway!! Been wanted to play this course for over 30 years !! Finally did and was very disappointed!!
Traps were not raked the greens have not been mowed or the fairways!! Very disappointed!! Had hi hopes but was shot down!!
I do not recommend this course to anyone at a 100.00 a round!!
Be careful in the "bunkers"
Please remove all rocks in bunkers, not the pebbles, I mean the rocks, lots of rocks. I have never seen rocks in bunkers before, but this is truly a "hazzard" along with the dirt, not sand.
One of the better public layouts on the peninsula, just wish the owners are aware of what they have, an awesome golf course in the worst condition possible.

Course in great shape
Okay thanks
Great course, tough greens
Tough greens meaning bumping and not true.
Putts jumped and zigzagged wildly with numerous types of grass clumps on each green.
Such a great course but the greens were terrible.
Great morning for 18
I arrived a half hour before my tee time. I was told I was free to tee whenever I wanted before my tee time. I walked and played a great and relaxing Friday morning round.
Slow play
When we got the start time it was not mentioned that there would be a senior tournament ahead of us. We didn’t have to play that day.
Pretty forgiving course
As a newbie golfer, I found the course to be fairly forgiving off the tee-box and pretty fun overall. Course conditions were good considering the drought and the sand traps were well maintained to where you can actually play the ball.
Nice Day at Laguna
Laguna is a great place to play for the price. The greens are slow as they just resurfaced them but they could use some help.
Pace of play was really slow on the front 9 but smooth on the back 9.
The bunkers need some serous help as it like hitting on concrete with rocks included.
overall nice day and will return.
No Tee Time
Showed up and they had no tee time for us. So we couldn’t play.
Disappointed
I hadn’t played Laguna in a couple of years. Was disappointed to see the condition of the course. I understand the drought conditions are contributing to the dead grass everywhere but I was amazed to see that they are now charging $20 per player for cart rental.. This is not a $100 per round course imo. ($75 + 20 person for cart - really? ($40 for two to ride in a cart???!!)
For comparison - I played Black Horse which is in great shape and 10x the course for $75 with a cart included last week. They should take some of those funds and repair the deteriorating cart paths and replace the rocks in the bunkers with sand. I have 2 holes in 1 in my life - both at Laguna. I used to love playing here…..
Sad to see
My first time back to Laguna Seca in 3 years. Very sad to see this once fine course become so rundown and In poor condition. The greens are ridiculously slow, the bunkers lack sand and proper maintenance and the fairways are unkept. Hopefully this is only temporary due to lack of staff following the pandemic.
4 1/2 Stars
Excellent layout with enough doglegs to make it interesting. Uphill holes only looks longer especially #9 and #18. Front greens and tee boxes were in outstanding shape. Back tee boxes (2 -3) showed wear and tear. Pace of play - no one in front of me so I was able to breeze through. I definitely like this course and will return to play again. Hats off the Maintenance tee who I saw working hard to maintain and improve course conditions.
